With over 25 years of DC internship/ practicum assistance, Gateway professionals assists each client in all stages of the DC internship process, including researching prospective internships, developing competitive applications (e.g., resumes, cover letters, statements, work samples), interview coaching, and guidance in final decisions on internship offers. Throughout the experience, Gateway also serves as a liaison to employers to ensure each client can take full advantage of substantive work opportunities.

Gateway has extensive experience in planning and hosting shorter DC academic and professional programs. These one or two-week policy "immersions" are designed for groups of individuals (e.g., school classes, intern groups, professionals) eager to gain further expertise in specific, timely issue areas. In collaboration with clients, Gateway manages the planning and logistics, including a daily program itinerary of expert speakers and site visits, faculty-led workshops and instruction, historical and cultural tours and events, program budgeting and payments, local housing, and transportation.

Typically held over one week, the DC orientation provides a valuable ‘head start’ for incoming participants to learn the fundamentals of DC life, including meeting with DC professionals in various global career fields and institutions, and customized tours of various DC locations that are central to the city’s unique professional, cultural, historic, and social scenes.

Gateway coordinates ongoing client activities offered during their stay in DC, to include regular ‘office hours’ for individualized check-ins, group professional workshops, guest-speakers and site visits, and access to networks of resources for academic, cultural, and social events.
